00HOW DID WOMEN MENTORING WOMEN MINISTRY GET STARTED?

Shirley was filled with the Holy Spirit in the early Charismatic Move in 1968.  It was a defining moment for her as the Lord redirected her life and sent she and her family to establish a Christian summer camp in Avant, Oklahoma called Shepherd's Fold Ranch.  She and her husband raised their family there and she had many opportunities to work with women, parents of campers and led many Bible studies and retreats for women.  When Shirley's husband, Don went to be with the Lord in 1999, she found herself in a whole new realm of ministry moving out into new territory.  One day the Lord spoke to her and said her outreach would go beyond her local church.  He began to send more and more women of all ages who were seeking a mentor or seeking how to live life in the post-modern world.

Women from different denominations began to confront her about spending time together in a mentoring relationship.  She suddenly realized there was a growing hunger among women to learn from an older woman about many subjects:

o How to draw near to the Lord in Worship (in the midst of raising a family, juggling work, husbands needs, kids schedules and demands plus church activity)

o How to manage a household o How do we love the Lord our God, ourselves and others

o How to enter into Worship in Spirit and in Truth o How do we prepare ourselves for the coming of the Lord (our Bridegroom)

o How to simply Rest in the Lord thru the crazies! o How do we raise godly children in an ungodly generation

How to learn to flow in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit o How do we make our homes a sanctuary of the Lord

How to know if you are called to be an Intercessor o How do I love my husband, my children, my home

How to build a strong foundation as a Mentor/Leader o How do I learn self-control, purity, kindness

Shirley started holding classes in women's homes.  She decided to use her own material for teaching which meant writing three different books that could not only be used for her teaching, but  could be used by the students to mentor others.  Shirley became incorporated as a non-profit 501c3 organization in 2004.
